Working with Laura Colgin's graduate lab on brain wave's research we were able to take electroencephalogram(EEG) brain reading installations to a new level by allowing the participant to sit back and relax in a chair and allow their brain waves to generate a beautiful musical composition.
The participant begins by putting on the EEG, headphones, sit down in a chair and close their eyes. While their eyes are closed the participant hears a melody that increase in complexity as their alpha waves(waves related to relaxation) increase.
Passerby's are then allowed to watch the sounds complexity represented in the form of live generative video that mirrors the complexity in music visually. They are also able to listen to what the participant can hear on an additional pair of headphones.
